Sports Performance - Training Overview

Group Athlete Training – Each athlete will have their own individualized workout that is based on their FMS results and progress or development in the training program. Athletes will be placed into training categories based on their previous training experience, FMS results, and age.


Assessments

  1. Functional Movement Screen
    • A 7 Step Screen that takes about 10-15 minutes.
    • It’s used to identify weak links or dysfunction in a person and movement patterns.
      • Weaknesses or dysfunction could be due to limited range-of-motion, the inability of a joint or joints to stabilize or incorrect muscular response to a movement pattern
  2. Performance Assessment
    • Speed
    • Agility
    • Muscular Power
    • Muscular Strength
    • Anaerobic Capacity

5 Levels of Group Athlete Training

  1. Young Athlete
    • For athletes aged 8-12 years of age
    • An introductory class where athletes learn the basics of all training
    • This group will not just focus on one type of training during the session
  2. Beginner
    • For athletes aged 12-16 years of age
    • For athletes with little to no training experience
    • For athletes that need to improve their FMS Scores
  3. Advanced
    • For athletes aged 14-19 years of age
    • For athletes with previous training experience
    • For athletes that have better than average FMS Scores
  4. Elite
    • For athletes aged 17-25+ years of age
    • For athletes that have reached peak of their athletic level (Professional/Late Collegiate Athletes)
    • For athletes that need to improve their FMS Scores
  5. Apex Athlete
    • For athletes aged 25-55+ years of age
    • For athletes who now participate recreationally
    • The goal of this class is to train like an athlete and reduce recreational sport injuries

  4. Introductory Classes
    • Introductory classes are the teaching classes
    • We teach them how to stretch before and after they attend a group class
      • Stretching and improving joint range-of-motion is very important to improving performance but we feel these techniques can be learned quickly as to not take away from the group class they are in.
    • We teach them how to read their workout
      • Seeing a bunch of words and acronyms can get confusing, but if you can read it you can understand it.
    • We teach them how to perform basic exercises the start to get into the components of the Olympic lifts

    (We will screen our athlete to detect poor movement patterns and give correctives and start the process of designing a personal plan to build and grow these correctives)

  • Intro Class $45.00
    (This class allows a client to work one on one with our trainer to correctly learn our individualized workouts to be able to attend resistance training and workout individually outside our classes)
